Alzheimer's Association - Walk to End Alzheimers (11/10/2024 - Boca Raton)
Bethesda Hospital East or West: Volunteers are placed according to their interests and abilities as they match the needs of Bethesda Health. Big Brothers Big Sisters - Volunteers help with homework, reading & other activities for youth grades K-5. 1 hour per week during the school year.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue - To volunteer independently on campus, you must be at least 16 years old. The minimum age to volunteer is 8-14 with a parent/adult but there are limited volunteer opportunities available which include our Ranch Readers Program or helping with Canine Care Shifts. They ask for a minimum 3-month commitment.
Blessing Blankets Made with Love - Create “no-sew” fleece blanket for dogs being adopted. Materials provided. If you don’t have experience there’s plenty of YouTube videos search “no sew fleece blankets”. The blanket material can be pre-cut so you just tie them or the material can be left whole so you could make the entire blanket. Boca Helping Hands (year-round) - under 15 years old, parents required on-scene with students volunteering.
Boca Raton Regional Hospital - 15-18 years old, commit to a minimum of a 4-hour shift per week, have a genuine desire to help people, & adhere to all D-RMSL and BRRH policies. (Open applications happen only a few times per year and there are limited spaces available)
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary - 15+ years old, commit to one 3-hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 months
Community Greening - High school students, check website for events. Many are planting trees.
Coral Springs Center of the Arts - High school students to usher during events
Daggerwing Nature Center - 15+ years old and commit for a minimum of 2 hours per week for 6 months
Delray Medical Center - 14-17 years old; ability to apply for a $1,000 scholarship in your senior year if you meet specific qualifications
Equine-Assisted Therapies of South Florida - 14+ years old, commit to minimum of 2-hour shifts per week during each 10-week session
Feeding South Florida (year-round) - Many opportunities throughout the year (including Saturdays). Must register and complete Minor Waiver Form. Students under 16 must have a parent/guardian with them. Register and then sign up online for available shifts.

Love Serving Autism - Helping students with Autism and mental disabilities with playing tennis.
Mind & Melody - 14+ years old, mostly after school but some weekends, assist our professional musicians during their specialized music programs to improve the lives of individuals experiencing dementia and other neurological impairments. Check out the YouTube video for more.
Miracle League of Palm Beach County - The Miracle League is a baseball league for children with disabilities and special needs. Games are played at Miller Field in Delray Beach. There are two 7 week seasons per year and they are always looking for new buddies to volunteer. Spring season opens in April - register to volunteer on our website now! Volunteers under 16 need a parent (or club/group adult) present.

WHAT: Summer Tour Plus (STP) is a program presented by Morikami Museum for children’s groups and summer camps. This summer program will consist of a presentation on the new exhibit and two hands-on projects.

WHO: Current high school students with an interest in working with peers; interest in or experience working with children; interest in writing, exhibition development, and research.
WHEN: Short-term. June 26 – July 20, 2023, with one short virtual check-in on July 5th or 6th during the week of July 4th. You must be available Monday-Thursday from 10 AM – 12 PM and 1:30 – 3:30 PM EST on each day for virtual training, workshops, and peer working groups.
VOLUNTEER HOURS: You may arrange with your school in advance to receive community service credit hours or to fulfill internship requirements. The Library can confirm up to 60 hours of service or internship hours for completing the intensive.
Learn about the Library and help the Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagement develop and create content to support the new participatory learning space for youth and families in the Library of Congress.
