Navigating college admissions has never been more complex or more consequential. The stakes feel high, the process can feel overwhelming, and most families are figuring it out largely on their own.
College Map Mentor was created because every student deserves more than 38 minutes of college counseling per year. More than a generic checklist. More than advice from someone who doesn't know their name. We believe every student has unique strengths, goals, and opportunities. Our mission is to help each student maximize their potential while reducing stress for the entire family.
We built this practice around a simple belief: when a student feels genuinely seen, supported, and guided, they rise to meet the moment.
College Map Mentor is a boutique, independent college counseling practice serving students in grades 9-12 across Broward and Palm Beach Counties. We work with students from private schools, public schools, charter schools, and homeschool programs. And we intentionally keep our client roster small so that every family receives the focused, personalized attention they deserve.
Our expertise spans the full journey: course selection, extracurricular strategy, standardized testing guidance, resume building, college list development, financial aid guidance, essay review, and everything in between. We have guided students into various in-state and out-of-state public and private institutions, community colleges, and vocational programs; because success looks different for every student, and we honor that.
We are proudly dedicated to providing dedicated and ethical student-centered college counseling.
Here is what sets us apart from other college consulting companies: we are not managing a caseload. Instead, we are building relationships.
We get to know our students, their strengths, their anxieties, their goals, and the things they haven't quite figured out yet. We show up for them consistently, from freshman year through the end of their senior year, as they are ready to walk out the door, ready for college. We celebrate their wins and help them learn from their setbacks.
The families we work with come to us almost entirely by referral, and we think that says everything. When parents trust us with their kids, that is not something we take lightly. Ever.
We are not the right fit for every family, and that is okay. But for the families who are looking for a trusted partner who genuinely cares - not just about where a student gets in, but about who they are becoming - we would love to connect.
Personalized, one-on-one guidance - each student is treated as an individual, not a file
Early and consistent engagement - we work best when we start early and build momentum over time
Accountability with heart - we set expectations, follow through, and always lead with encouragement
Whole-student thinking - we care about mental health, confidence, and life skills, not just applications
Transparent communication - students and parents are always in the loop
Our roster fills quickly, and we cap enrollment to protect the quality of service every client receives. We open for new clients in December and are usually full by the end of February for the following school year. If you are interested in working with us — or would simply like to learn more — we would strongly recommend reaching out sooner rather than later.
Complete the New Client Interest Form — and let's start mapping your student's future.
